Read Now: My Favorite Political Books

I read Dolly Kyle’s memoir during the election cycle, what great timing! Hillary The Other Woman was a page turner that I enjoyed immensely. I recently realized that many of my favorite books are either biographies or memoirs, there is something to be said for true life experiences. I am thankful so many brave people who share their stories.

Funny story, I was reading the book when we moved into our new house. A contractor came over and saw the book on the kitchen table and asked, “Oh I assume you’re a fan of Hillary’s?” I laughed. NOPE.

Here is what you need to know about this book:

Dolly Kyle met former president Clinton (Billy as she calls him) on a Hot Springs golf course when she was eleven and he was almost thirteen. It was colpo de fulmine (the thunderbolt) at first sight. Their friendship grew throughout high school and college. It became a decades-long affair that lasted despite marriages and politics all the way to the threshold of the White House—when she became a political liability, and he threatened to destroy her, as Hillary had done to so many of his other women over the years. What you know about the Clintons is probably limited to the pleasantries that the mainstream media have chosen to share with you. Hillary the Other Woman pulls no punches in describing the way “media magic” makes Clinton stories disappear.

The RICO (Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) federal lawsuit that Kyle filed against Clinton and cronies while he and co-president Hillary were in the White House?
The racial discrimination lawsuits filed by African-Americans against Clinton as governor of Arkansas?
Clinton’s orders for the Arkansas State Police to “stop and search” vehicles driven by Hispanics?
Thousands of young African-American men given long prison sentences under the “three strikes” laws pushed by co-presidents Bill and Hillary?
The co-president Clintons pandering to minorities with a subtle form of race baiting with their race-baitingda?
The racist names they call Jesse Jackson behind his back?

Hillary the Other Woman is not only about the politics of the Arkansas gubernatorial years and the famous “two for the price of one” presidency. It also provides a perspective on Arkansas life that formed the backdrop and training ground for the Clintons in their later crimes, their gangster-like threats and intimidation of political enemies, and their arrogant belief that they are above the law. You will see the connection between Hillary’s current email scandal and her shredding of documents when they left the Arkansas governor’s mansion.  You will realize that the Clinton Foundation is the new international version of the money laundering and bribes that you glossed over as “Cattlegate.” You will read clear, concise, entertaining accounts that put the multitude of Clinton scandals into everyday perspective. Finally, you will be privy to the Clinton “truth suppression” techniques that allowed them to get away with all of it.  Until now…

I appreciate Dolly’s honesty and her writing, a very good book! This isn’t gossipy or mean, its a matter-of-fact account of one woman’s experiences.

Another first-hand account is  Crisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses His Firsthand Experience with Hillary, Bill, and How They Operate by Gary J. Byrne.  I found this memoir riveting! Its an inside look at the secret service and their duties . I enjoy books like this that reveals details not well known to the public. This was well written and interesting from beginning to end. Gary is a true patriot!

Posted directly outside President Clinton’s Oval Office, Former Secret Service uniformed officer Gary Byrne reveals what he observed of Hillary Clinton’s character and the culture inside the White House while protecting the First Family. Now that a second Clinton administration threatens — their scheme from the very beginning — Byrne exposes what he saw of the real Hillary Clinton.

While serving as a Secret Service Officer, Gary Byrne protected President Bill Clinton and the First Family in the White House and outside the Oval Office. There, he saw the political and personal machinations of Bill and Hillary Clinton and those who were fiercely loyal to them. In CRISIS OF CHARACTER Byrne provides a firsthand account of the scandals–known and unknown–and daily trials ranging from the minor to national in scale.

Having witnessed the personal and political dysfunction of the Clinton White House–so consumed by scandal and destroying their enemies, real and imagined–Byrne came to understand that, to the Clintons, governing was an afterthought. He now tells this story–before voters go to the polls–in the hopes that Clinton supporters will understand the real Hillary Clinton.

A fantastic look at the men and women who protect the President and First Lady.

Secret Empires by Peter Schweizer is the follow up to the incredible book, Clinton Cash. If you don’t know much about politics, prepare to have your mind blown open. You will be shocked and disgusted!

Here’s what you need to know:

Peter Schweizer has been fighting corruption—and winning—for years. In Throw Them All Out, he exposed insider trading by members of Congress, leading to the passage of the STOCK Act. In Extortion, he uncovered how politicians use mafia-like tactics to enrich themselves. And in Clinton Cash, he revealed the Clintons’ massive money machine and sparked an FBI investigation. Now he explains how a new corruption has taken hold, involving larger sums of money than ever before. Stuffing tens of thousands of dollars into a freezer has morphed into multibillion-dollar equity deals done in the dark corners of the world.

An American bank opening in China would be prohibited by US law from hiring a slew of family members of top Chinese politicians. However, a Chinese bank opening in America can hire anyone it wants. It can even invite the friends and families of American politicians to invest in can’t-lose deals.

President Donald Trump’s children have made front pages across the world for their dicey transactions. However, the media has barely looked into questionable deals made by those close to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Mitch McConnell, and lesser-known politicians who have been in the game longer.

In many parts of the world, the children of powerful political figures go into business and profit handsomely, not necessarily because they are good at it, but because people want to curry favor with their influential parents. This is a relatively new phenomenon in the United States. But for relatives of some prominent political families, we may already be talking about hundreds of millions of dollars.

Deeply researched and packed with shocking revelations, Secret Empires identifies public servants who cannot be trusted and provides a path toward a more accountable government.

It’s so hard to believe that things like this go on in our government. Warning: this book might fire you up politically!

This book made me so mad! Not because it wasn’t well researched and impeccably written, but author Sharyl Attkisson sheds light on how we are manipulated by propaganda at every turn and you are left believing there is almost nothing in the media we can trust. Once you see it in black and white, you can spot the “fake news” a mile away.

The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think, and How You Vote is what the truth community would call a giant red pill.

We really can’t trust the news, there is a huge web of connections who serve only to control what we think. Sharyl goes deep to explain this and it will really open your eyes to what has been going on for decades.

Ever wonder how politics turned into a take-no-prisoners blood sport? The New York Times bestselling author of Stonewalled pulls back the curtain on the shady world of opposition research and reveals the dirty tricks those in power use to influence your opinions.

Behind most major political stories in the modern era, there is an agenda; an effort by opposition researchers, spin doctors, and outside interests to destroy an idea or a person. The tactic they use is the Smear. Every day, Americans are influenced by the Smear without knowing it. Paid forces cleverly shape virtually every image you cross. Maybe you read that Donald Trump is a racist misogynist, or saw someone on the news mocking the Bernie Sanders campaign. The trick of the Smear is that it is often based on some shred of truth, but these media-driven “hit pieces” are designed to obscure the truth. Success hinges on the Smear artist’s ability to remain invisible; to make it seem as if their work is neither calculated nor scripted. It must appear to be precisely what it is not.

Veteran journalist Sharyl Attkisson has witnessed this practice firsthand. After years of being pitched hit jobs and puff pieces, she’s an expert at detecting Smear campaigns. Now, the hard-hitting investigative reporter shares her inside knowledge, revealing how the Smear takes shape and who its perpetrators are—including Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal and, most influential of all, “right-wing assassin turned left-wing assassin” (National Review) political operative David Brock and his Media Matters for America empire.

Attkisson exposes the diabolical tactics of Smear artists, and their outrageous access to the biggest names in political media—operatives who are corrupting the political process, and discouraging widespread citizen involvement in our democracy.

I cannot write about political books without mentioning Dinesh D’ Souza. It was the last election when I learned about Dinesh and his work.

Though I knew a lot, I certainly didn’t (and still don’t)  know everything and Hillary’s America was something that educated me and opened my eyes even more. I also watched the movies from Dinesh (new one opens in August) and was left in a state of shock.

If you are willing to open your mind, you will go through a state of shock, questioning, wonderment, a quest for truth and finally acceptance that there is so much of what we have learned is not told through the lens of truth.

Dinesh D’Souza, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller America: Imagine a World Without Her, has a warning: We are on the brink of losing our country forever. After eight years of Obama, four years—or possibly eight years—of Hillary Clinton as president of the United States would so utterly transform America as to make it unrecognizable.

No more will America be a land of opportunity. Instead, it will be a land of rapacious crony capitalism, run solely for the benefit of friends of the Obamas and the Clintons and the Democratic Party. It will, in fact, be the fulfillment of a dream the Democratic Party has had from the beginning…a dream of stealing America for the politically favored few.

In Hillary’s America, D’Souza reveals the sordid truth about Hillary and the secret history of the Democratic Party, including: how Democrats transitioned from pro-slavery to pro-enslavement; the long-standing Democratic political war against women; how Hillary Clinton’s political mentor was, literally, a cold-blooded gangster; how the Clintons and other Democrats see foreign policy not in terms of national interest, but in terms of personal profit; how Democratically controlled cities have turned into hotbeds of crime and corruption; and much, much more.

Not only is Hillary Clinton a liar and a criminal—who would have been indicted for mishandling classified information on her secret email sever had the Democratic Party not closed ranks around her—she is also the culmination of her party’s deliberate and stunning plot to redistribute wealth and political power to the liberal elite.

Find out how Hillary and Bill used the Clinton Foundation to ruthlessly sell State Department influence to the highest foreign bidder. Find out what shady backroom Democrat dealers taught Hillary Clinton her particular brand of corrupt party politics. And most importantly, find out whether America can stop her from destroying the country once and for all.

I also read, and highly recommend The Big Lie.

These books have been recommended to me by friends…

Armageddon, How Trump Can Beat Hillary by Dick Morris is a book that came out a while ago and it would be interesting to look back and read this, knowing what we all know now.

The 2016 election is truly America’s Armageddon—the ultimate and decisive battle to save America, a fight to defeat Hillary Clinton and the forces seeking to flout our constitutional government and replace it with an all-powerful president backed up by an activist judiciary that answers to no one. Already President Obama has moved America far down this path, and a President Clinton will act as his “third term,” institutionalizing the excesses of the past eight years. In Armageddon, bestselling author and political strategist Dick Morris provides a winning game plan to take back the White House, and America. Because this is our last chance:

• Our last chance to stop socialist uniformity, corruption and executive usurpation
• Our last chance to curb welfare programs that are destroying the economic and social fabric of the nation
• Our last chance to secure our border and keep our sovereignty
• Our last chance to stand up against ISIS and terrorism
• Our last chance to protect the Second Amendment

We can do it. We must. It’s our last chance. Read Armageddon, or risk losing the battle to save America! On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, American voters will make a momentous decision.
They will decide whether or not this great country will remain a free market, constitutional democracy. The stakes could not be higher. If Hillary Clinton is elected president, it will mean the end of the America we know and love.  Armageddon, by New York Times bestselling authors Dick Morris and Eileen McGann, is a call to arms, a call to join that ultimate battle.

Few know Hillary Clinton better than Dick Morris. For almost two decades he served as a special adviser to both her and her husband, Bill Clinton. He knows their strengths, their vulnerabilities, and even their deepest secrets.  In Armageddon, Morris offers a manual on how to win this battle and defeat Hillary once and for all. He argues that a typical Republican campaign won’t work—and that Hillary’s opponent must strike her in a very unorthodox and powerful way.

Morris says it’s a winning strategy and voters play a critical role. A noted political strategist, Dick Morris has created winning strategies for numerous presidential campaigns in the U.S. and abroad. In this book he lays out a war plan, one the Republican nominee must use to prevent her victory:

• Throw a surprising right jab: terrorism and healthcare
• Throw the left hook: jobs, immigration, Wall Street
• Play her game on class warfare: women, Latinos, and young voters

Republicans need to stop playing by the old rules of the game. Those rules don’t work—they elected Barack Obama twice. Obama has changed America in fundamental ways and Morris posits that Hillary’s opponents need to grasp this and implement a strategy that can finally defeat her.

American Pravda: My Fight for Truth in the Era of Fake News by [O'Keefe, James]

I am a fan of James O’Keefe and want to read this book, American Pravda.

The one real difference between the American press and the Soviet state newspaper Pravda was that the Russian people knew they were being lied to. To expose the lies our media tell us today, controversial journalist James O’Keefe created Project Veritas, an independent news organization whose reporters go where traditional journalists dare not. Their investigative work–equal parts James Bond, Mike Wallace, and Saul Alinsky—has had a consistent and powerful impact on its targets.

In American Pravda, the reader is invited to go undercover with these intrepid journalists as they infiltrate political campaigns, unmask dishonest officials and expose voter fraud. A rollicking adventure story on one level, the book also serves as a treatise on modern media, arguing that establishment journalists have a vested interest in keeping the powerful comfortable and the people misinformed.

The book not only contests the false narratives frequently put forth by corporate media, it documents the consequences of telling the truth in a world that does not necessarily want to hear it. O’Keefe’s enemies attack with lawsuits, smear campaigns, political prosecutions, and false charges in an effort to shut down Project Veritas. For O’Keefe, every one of these attacks is a sign of success.

American Pravda puts the myths and misconceptions surrounding O’Keefe’s activities to rest and will make you rethink every word you hear and read in the so-called mainstream press.

I just downloaded this book, You’d Better Put Some Ice On That: How I Survived Being Raped by Bill Clinton by Juanita Broaddrick. I  have long been familiar with Juanita, going back many years, only because her name was in the news.  She is a brave woman to come out and tell her story, much like Dolly Kyle. I have respect and admiration for strong females!

I’m a little nervous reading this, only because I have so much sympathy for Juanita and don’t like to see people experience pain. Still, this book has been recommended again and again so I am going to sit down and read it!

In 1999, Juanita Broaddrick burst into the public consciousness when she accused President Bill Clinton on national television of raping her in 1978 as he ran for governor in Arkansas. It was a TV appearance she dreaded and never wanted, but felt compelled to squash the rumors: it was rape. Now, with award-winning former investigative journalist Nick Lulli, she tells her story of survival; from the assault at the hands of the future president, to the veiled threats by a seemingly complicit presidential wannabe Hillary Rodham Clinton; Broaddrick believes now is the time to set the record straight and ensure victims everywhere are believed.

Note: I get my news from independent journalists and investigators, I haven’t watched the mainstream news in a very long time. I am a free thinker and would consider myself middle of the road when it comes to politics. Nevermind political affiliations, we can all get along and enjoy good books!
